NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – October 26, 2004 – The TriZetto Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX), today announced that Jim Wade has joined the company as senior vice president, human capital management. Wade will oversee and guide all human resources and organizational effectiveness functions. Deb Brighton, who has been with TriZetto since 1998 and led the HR function since 2002, will be retiring for health reasons.

Wade brings more than 30 years of experience leading human resource functions at complex organizations in healthcare, aerospace and high tech defense industries. Most recently he was senior partner at McCormick & Farrow, an executive search firm. He led the firm's healthcare industry sector in directing key clinical and executive talent acquisition projects for hospital systems, managed care companies and major medical groups. Previously, Wade was corporate vice president of human resources at FHP International, now part of PacifiCare, where he led all human resources functions for the $4 billion health plan. He also held senior HR positions at Hadson Corporation and Allied Signal. In addition to a number of healthcare industry and human resources professional affiliations, Wade was also an adjunct faculty member to the graduate school at Chapman University.

Wade will be located at TriZetto's Newport Beach, California offices. He holds a Masters of Science in Human Resource Management from Chapman University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Redlands.
