NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – July 28, 2004 – The TriZetto Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) announced that The Regence Group – an affiliation of four Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield plans in the Northwest and Mountain states – has signed a consulting agreement to support the consolidation of its membership onto Facets Extended Enterprise™, TriZetto's comprehensive administrative software for health plans. Regence currently serves nearly three million members in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah.

In January, Regence signed an agreement to begin moving all four of its regional health plans, starting with Idaho, onto a single Facets platform, hosted by TriZetto. In June, Regence confirmed this strategy for its other three states and also signed the additional consulting agreement. The decision was part of a larger corporate strategy to streamline administration, improve efficiency and enhance customer service.

TriZetto will provide professional consulting services to assist Regence with its Facets implementation. These services will address multiple aspects of the project, including Facets functionality, project management, business integration, custom development and process engineering. Regence will also receive several of TriZetto's specialized health plan consulting services, which will focus on e-business and business intelligence.
