TriZetto Unveils Member-Centric Advanced Care Management Strategy
New CareAdvance Enterprise Software, Powered by CareKey, Reduces Medical Costs and Improves Care Management Effectiveness
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – May 5, 2004 – Health plans will soon be able to partner with members in shaping their care decisions thanks to a broadened technology strategy that The TriZetto Group Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) announced today. TriZetto, traditionally focused on reducing administrative costs, is expanding its software and services to help payers better manage healthcare costs, while at the same time improve care management effectiveness, deepen members' loyalty, and satisfy employers. Central to this strategy, TriZetto is introducing CareAdvance Enterprise™, new software which involves consumers more directly in their health by enhancing and automating the entire care management spectrum – case, disease and population management.
As consumers shoulder more of the cost of their healthcare – and as the industry moves to a more retail-like approach – health plans must address increasing member demand for better information and greater control over care decisions. CareAdvance Enterprise is part of TriZetto's commitment to help health plans partner with consumers to shape behavior that can lower costs and improve outcomes. This member-centric platform provides members with the customized information and tools necessary for effective self-management. Using extensive automation, CareAdvance Enterprise also extends the care management program's reach with higher impact and lower interaction costs.
TriZetto is licensing CareAdvance Enterprise's core technology from CareKey Inc., a leading care management technology company.
"Leveraging both TriZetto's and CareKey's strengths, this advanced care management software will leapfrog other solutions in terms of controlling costs, supporting the best treatment plans and driving member loyalty," said Val Dean, M.D., vice president of Care and Network Management for TriZetto. "Our highly automated CareAdvance Enterprise software will provide better information-sharing among health plans, members and providers, each a crucial link in effective care management."
CareAdvance Enterprise will integrate with the health plan's core information systems, aggregating the member's personal health history, authorizations, claims information and clinical data into a single repository. Members, their providers and care managers can securely exchange and add information – at the member's discretion – via Internet browser, phone, fax, e-mail and other communication channels. By combining this data with an automated rules engine, the application enables health plans to send personalized information to members, including health risk assessments and reminders, secure messages, and customized health reports.
CareAdvance Enterprise enables broad case management, including automating member identification, guideline-based care planning, task management and assignments, ongoing member monitoring, and granular reporting.
Using CareAdvance Enterprise, the health plan will be able manage more members, more effectively, at less cost. Members will be able interact with their plan, providers and caregivers, while receiving personalized health and wellness information.
Availability
The comprehensive CareAdvance Enterprise system is expected to be available to customers in early July. Personal CareAdvance™, the standalone population and personal health management application of CareAdvance Enterprise, is available today. Personal CareAdvance supports the creation and maintenance of individualized online health records for members.
