TriZetto Introduces Facets Extended Enterprise
Expanded Administrative System Helps Health Plans Anticipate Industry Change, Improve Service to Consumers
NMHCC Annual Conference, WASHINGTON – March 10, 2003 – Today at the National Managed Health Care Congress (NMHCC) Conference in Washington, D.C., The TriZetto® Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:TZIX) unveiled a major expansion of its administrative system for health plans, called Facets Extended Enterprise™, or Facets e2™. This enterprise software, which will initially become available in June, gives members, physicians, employers and brokers real-time, direct access to the health plan's back-office information via the Internet. Facets e2 is fully compliant with federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and it can meet the volume demands of even the largest health plans.
TriZetto developed Facets e2 to help its customers stay ahead of trends in the employer benefits market. Health plan rate increases have been in the double digits for the past several years, but those increases have been offset by rising medical costs. In addition, employers have shifted more of the cost of health benefits to employees, who in turn are demanding better customer service and more information about cost and quality from their health plan. To succeed in the future, health plans must use more sophisticated technology to automate work processes, reduce costs and make it easy for consumers to navigate the healthcare delivery system.
Using Facets e2, health plans can increase efficiency and become more consumer-friendly at the same time. Facets e2 supports customization of benefit plans and online tracking of individual and family healthcare expenses. It also allows consumers to check the status of a claim, order new ID cards and add or change dependents online, 24 hours a day. Inside the health plan, Facets e2 speeds and simplifies the set up of new benefit plans by guiding users through the system step-by-step.
"Health plans that want to stay competitive must respond to key forces changing the benefits market, all of which are raising the bar for business and product performance," said Janice Young, a research director at Gartner, Inc. "Health plans will need a technology roadmap for operational efficiency, business and product flexibility, and information management."
"Facets e2 addresses all the major business requirements of a health plan – from product development and customer service to claims processing and care management,” said Tony Bellomo, president of TriZetto's software unit. "Our software development teams have deep expertise in the business cycles and, together, they've built the most comprehensive, functional and integrated core administration system in the industry."
