Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri Selects TriZetto's Integrated HealthWeb/Erisco Facets E-business Solution

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – April 12, 2001 – The TriZetto(R) Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX) announced today that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri has selected TriZetto's integrated HealthWeb(R)/Erisco Facets(R) solution, an Internet-enabled extension of the Erisco Facets payer administrative system using TriZetto's HealthWeb e-business platform. The 2.7 million-member healthcare benefits company is a current Facets customer and the third Blue Cross Blue Shield plan to contract with TriZetto for the integrated solution.

"We welcome Blue Cross Blue and Shield of Missouri as our newest HealthWeb customer. The integrated HealthWeb/Erisco Facets solution, coupled with HealthWeb's ability to interface with the health plan's other systems, will allow Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri to present a single Web identity to members, providers, brokers and employers," says Gail Knopf, chief operating officer of TriZetto's HealthWeb unit. "Because so many Blue plans already use Facets, we believe that Facets will be attractive to more and more of them who want to leverage their existing systems with HealthWeb architecture to obtain a seamless, integrated e-business solution quickly and efficiently."

The integrated solution will allow Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri to use the Internet as a vehicle for communicating and conducting business first with providers and members, then with group leaders and brokers.

Phase one of the online features and transactions to be implemented will include:

  • Eligibility and coverage inquiry
  • Preauthorization information inquiry
  • Claim status inquiry
  • Referral information inquiry
  • Benefits information

Phase two will include update transactions such as referral and authorization submissions, PCP changes, membership updates and premium inquiry.

"When we looked at the various options available to us, it seemed logical to try to leverage the significant investment we had in Erisco's Facets system," says Connie L. Van Fleet, senior vice president and CIO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri. "We started with a focus on our providers, and it's a plus that the same solution can service our members, brokers and group leaders."
