At TriZetto's Executive Summit for Benefits Administration Clients held this past March at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ, TPA Executives discussed the growing pressure to keep claim processing costs to a minimum.

As a result of that discussion, the QicLink Automation Task Force was established as a collaboration between TriZetto and several clients from the Summit who have had automation strategies in place for a number of years.

While it was acknowledged that the QicLink product line already has processes and functionality to support high levels of automation, the goal of the taskforce is twofold:

  • Identify potential inhibitors to increased auto-adjudication
  • Identify and document a consolidated list of best practices to generate a high rate of auto-adjudication.
The Automation Task Force met in mid-May and again in July, during the recent Benefits Administration Client Conference in Chicago. As a result of these joint meetings,TriZetto has committed to incorporate many of the recommendations determined by this committee into near-term QicLink product releases scheduled for December 2005 and September 2006.

Final details of the results of the Task Force - complete with planned system enhancements and documentation of best practices - will be published to TriZetto Benefits Administration clients in October.
