Does your healthcare benefits administration system allow you to easily establish parameters for long- and short-term disability claims, including payment frequencies and benefit calculations? The Disability component, fully interactive with the TriZetto® QicLink™ system, manages processing operations for short-and long-term disability benefits, from specifying a benefit plan and establishing claim and payment generation, to processing year-end W-2 information.
Users of the Disability component can easily set up and maintain calculation parameters for each disability plan and type. The system stores information for each employer group, by effective date, check group, carrier, policy number, fund-account number, and minimum fund balance. Each group can be maintained using federal, Medicare, Social Security, state and two user-defined withhold tax tables. The component links both short- and long-term benefits for processing and generates payments automatically, based on the duration and frequency defined by the user. It also generates checks and worksheets for claims. If required, QicLink holds claims automatically. After the last payment is sent, the system can automatically close claims.
